I am also a certified clinical supervisor with 8 plus years of clinical experience. My clinical approach incorporates narrative, TF-CBT, Attachment theory, and somatic healing practices. My supervision approach is based on a developmental framework. I have clinical experience working with children, teens, and adults. I am passionate about trauma, perinatal mental health, and relational issues.
Private Practice Consulting
I started my solo therapy practice in 2019 and through trial and error and a few business coaches, I was able to hit 6 figures during my first full year in business. I was so determined to develop systems that would ensure that my practice would be both low maintenance and profitable. My main mission for my consulting services are to help my clients create a similar structure in their practice. Check out my FREE EBOOK to create a profitable online group practice.
This process was not easy and finding a coach that would provide me with the knowledge needed to create and maintain healthy systems within my practice took more than one attempt. Through that process, I was able to develop a coaching technique that provides my clients with the well rounded support I desired. One that is based on compassion, competence, structure, and collaboration. I will act as a guide to come along side you on your journey. I want to help you create your vision.
I know what it feels like to be a first generation business owner. I know what it feels like to experience imposter syndrome. I know what it feels like to have a vision but not quite sure how to get there. My goal is to help bridge the gap between you and that vision.
Through this process we will focus on the following:
-Setting up a successful solo private practice
-Transition to a group private practice
-Structuring a virtual or hybrid private practice
-Financial structuring for private practice
-Administrative structuring for solo and/or group private practice
-Niching your solo or group practice to reduce burnout and increase retention
-Credentialing and ethical consideration around billing
-Leadership skills that help increase Therapist retention
My supervision draws from an integration of a discrimination and feminism supervision model. My supervision encompasses the roles of teacher, consultant, and counselor to assist you with your own development as a counselor. (Please note that I will not serve as your own personal counselor; rather, I will take on appropriate counseling behaviors to assist you in your development as a professional counselor). The supervision you will be offered will be developmentally appropriate for you so that it matches your level of experience and your therapeutic abilities. The supervision you receive will include discussions about cultural context, your own, the supervisor's and the client's, and how those affect the counseling and supervision relationships of which you are a part. The supervision you receive will be sensitive to your personal goals for yourself as a counselor and will be consistent with how you conceptualize client issues theoretically. You will be challenged and supported throughout supervision. You will be treated with respect.
My counseling experience includes work with adolescents, adults, and children dealing with trauma, abuse, grief, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. I have worked in the for profit and nonprofit agency setting as well as private practice setting. I have both in office and in home therapy experience as well. I have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Conscious Yoga techniques, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Techniques, and other somatic interventions. As the supervisee, you will be encouraged to determine your theoretical orientation during this time and you have the right to work with a supervisor who is responsive to your theoretical orientation, learning style, and developmental needs.
Although the process of supervision may appear overwhelming or intimidating at times, please be assured that I consider this a very exciting time in your professional development as a counselor and would consider myself privileged to be a part of this process with you. I look forward to working with you and to celebrating your progress as you take the next step in your goal of entering a noble and rewarding profession.
